Sweltering in Cozumel

Cozumel was beautiful. It was authentic old Mexico. It was also miserably hot and humid. But that’s what you get when you’re in the tropics in the last couple days of July, so no room for complaining here!

We made our way off the ship down the pier, and into the duty-free store where I purchased some cigars, a hat, Diane got some wraparound sunglasses, and then we are off to stroll about the city.

I was OK because I was on my scooter. The radiant queen Diane, however, was huffing and puffing and sweating. It was nearly 90° very high humidity, and we were both quite drenched with our own juices, so to speak. But we did get some video.

As you heard us discuss in the video, Di was not particularly hungry. Neither was I, really, but I was bound and determined I was going to eat some real Mexico food in Mexico! So we stopped at a little open air Café, where I had the biggest, tastiest burrito I’ve ever eaten.

When she saw how much I was enjoying my burrito, the queen decided to go ahead and order some coconut shrimp.

After eating, we made our way back to the ship, which you can see over Diane’s shoulder there, got back into the air conditioning, rested a bit, and then had fun with our new Lucha Libre masks.

Yes, I’m 70 years old.

Today is a sea day as we make our way north to the Bahamas to MSC‘s private island for a day of just sitting around. Back to Miami on Saturday to offload the seven day cruisers and on load another bunch.
